Tattoo Aftercare

SECOND SKIN can stay on for 3-5 days.

You can shower with the second skin, Avoid soaking the tattoo, no swimming, hot tubs, saunas for a month. If there is fluid build up remove early Remove in the shower with warm water and unscented soap.

Signs of irritation, redness around edges of second skin take off immediately. Unsure? Please contact me. 

When Second skin comes off/WITHOUT SECOND SKIN START HERE:

Wash with unscented soap and pat dry with a freshly cleaned hand towel or fresh out of the packaging paper towel. Moisturize with unscented moisturizer.

 

You can chose to dry heal, that means proceeding without any moisturizer. Please continue to wash your tattoo even without moisturizer.

Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.

Gently wash your tattoo 2 times a day Once in the morning and once at night with unscented soap Pat dry and use unscented moisturizer.

 

During the itchy stages use a small amount of unscented moisturizer to help relieve the itch. 

You can lightly pat your tattoo too.

Avoid excessive use of moisturizer and do not use vaseline or oils.

Avoid direct sunlight during healing Wear loose breathable clothing around tattoo area.

Avoid sleeping on the tattoo

Stay hydrated.

Sweat can cause an infection, walks are okay but no excessive exercise for two weeks.

Signs of infection include the skin being warm, red and painful.

There also may be pus leaking from the tattoo.

Immediately seek a doctor for antibiotics and let me know.

Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo.

There will be scabbing, flaking and peeling, this is all normal.

Avoid direct sunlight and no tanning beds for a month.

For the longevity of your tattoo apply sunscreen and moisturizer every day after the 2 week healing period.
